Katherine Nichols, Founder
As the passionate Founder and Executive Director of Vanessa's HEART, I've dedicated over 8 years to serving homeless and less fortunate individuals in Baltimore City and the surrounding areas. My diverse background in management, customer service, photography/videography, and transportation has uniquely equipped me to address the needs of our community. With my management skills, I leverage my experience and I lead our team with compassion and efficiency. I prioritize empathy and understanding in all interactions with my vast years of customer service experience. My photography/videography experience helps me capture the essence of our work and sharing our impact and my transportation experience ensures vital resources reach those who need them most. I take great pride in organizing successful community giveback events that provide essential aid to our friends in need. My attention to detail ensures that every initiative is executed flawlessly. As a team player, I actively seek partnerships with likeminded individuals and organizations. Together, we can expand our reach and make a lasting difference.

Hello, my name is Tyra. In my personal life, I enjoy bowling and playing softball. However, my deepest passion lies in giving back to the community. I strongly believe in the value of service and dedicate my time to volunteering whenever possible, knowing that time is one of the most meaningful gifts we can offer. Although my full-time work schedule and educational journey currently limit my nonprofit board commitments to this organization, I remain actively involved in supporting and volunteering with this and other nonprofit organizations. I find immense fulfillment in collaborating with my fellow board members as we develop innovative ways to provide resources and meaningful assistance to those in need.
Being part of Vanessa’s Heart allows me to channel my love for helping others, embrace my empathy, and contribute to a mission that truly makes a difference. Knowing that our efforts positively impact the lives of those we serve brings me immense joy and deepens my commitment to this work.
Nicole "Kannon" Wilmore
Nicole “Kannon” Wilmore is a proud native of Baltimore, Maryland, where she currently resides with her beloved House Hippo, Kash. A dedicated professional in the technology field, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, an Associate’s Degree in Cybersecurity, and is currently pursuing her CompTIA Security+ certification. Kannon is deeply passionate about community service and consistently seeks opportunities to give back whenever her schedule allows. From 2021 to 2023, she served as both Chair and Co-Chair of Community Service for her Eastern Star Chapter in Dundalk, Maryland. During her tenure, she led several impactful outreach initiatives, including a standout laundry care drive that provided essential hygiene, and laundry supplies to underserved youth in Harford County.
In addition to her service within her Eastern Star chapter Kannon also serves as the Fundraising Chair for another Maryland-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting cancer patients and their caregivers.
Kannon joined the Vanessa's HEART family in 2023 and shortly after has partnered on 2 amazingly successful birthday givebacks with us.
Driven by compassion and purpose, Nicole “Kannon” Wilmore continues to lead with a servant’s heart—committed to making a difference wherever she can.
